PM Shehbaz to Lead high-level delegation to Riyadh for future investment initiative

KARACHI: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif will embark on a three-day visit to Riyadh from October 27 to 29 at the invitation of Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia Muhammmad Bin Salma to participate in the Ninth Edition of the Future Investment Initiative (FII9), one of the world’s premier economic and investment summits.
The prime minister will lead a high-level delegation comprising Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister and senior cabinet ministers. The conference, which brings together global leaders, investors, and policymakers, is being held under the theme “The Key to Prosperity: Unlocking New Frontiers of Growth.”
The forum will focus on critical global issues, including innovation, sustainability, economic inclusion, and geopolitical developments. PM Shehbaz is expected to hold bilateral meetings with the Saudi leadership to explore new avenues of cooperation in trade, investment, energy, and human resource development.
On the sidelines of the summit, the prime minister will also meet leaders of other participating countries and heads of major international organizations to highlight Pakistan’s investment potential and its readiness to collaborate on sustainable development projects.
“This visit underscores Pakistan’s commitment to advancing economic diplomacy and building strategic partnerships in investment, technology, and sustainable development,” the Foreign Office said in a statement.
Analysts say the visit comes at a crucial time as Pakistan seeks to move from short-term economic stabilization to sustainable growth. FII9 offers an opportunity to attract foreign direct investment, forge long-term partnerships, and position Pakistan as a reliable economic partner in the region.
The prime minister’s engagement in Riyadh is expected to strengthen Islamabad’s economic ties with Riyadh and other participating nations while signaling Pakistan’s renewed focus on economic diplomacy.
