ISLAMABAD: The Federal Government has appointed Ms. Raisa Adil, a senior BS-20 officer of the Information Group, as the new Executive Director General/Principal Information Officer (PIO), Press Information Department (PID), Islamabad, with immediate effect. The appointment was notified by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting on Wednesday.
Prior to her new assignment, Raisa Adil was serving as Executive Director General, External Publicity Wing, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, where she played a significant role in promoting Pakistan’s image internationally and strengthening the country’s public diplomacy initiatives.
Her appointment as Principal Information Officer has been widely welcomed by members of the media fraternity and officials of the Information Group, who regard it as a well-deserved recognition of her distinguished professional career, administrative capabilities and commitment to public service.
Throughout her career, Raisa Adil has earned a reputation for professionalism, integrity and efficient public administration. Colleagues and media professionals who have worked with her have praised her constructive engagement with journalists, transparent communication style and dedication to strengthening cooperation between the government and the media.
The Press Information Department serves as the Government of Pakistan’s principal media and public information organization, responsible for disseminating official information, facilitating communication between government institutions and the media, organizing press briefings, and ensuring timely dissemination of authentic information to both national and international media organizations.

The notification issued by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting stated that Raisa Adil has been transferred and posted as Executive Director General/Principal Information Officer, Press Information Department, Islamabad, with immediate effect and until further orders.
