TNFJ leads countrywide protests demanding reconstruction of Jannat al-Baqi

RAWALPINDI: The “Global Day of the Demolition of Jannat al-Baqi,” established by Quaid-e-Millat-e-Jafariya Agha Syed Hamid Ali Shah Moosavi, was observed with religious and national spirit against the demolition of sacred Islamic shrines and relics in the land of Hijaz. A renewed commitment was made to end religious extremism and to restore the holy shrines of Muslims. On this occasion, mourning protest rallies were held by Tehreek Nafaz Fiqh Jafariya and its affiliated organizations in countries across four continents as well as in all major and minor cities, towns, and villages of Pakistan, with millions of followers of Islam participating. Dozens of demonstrations were held at press clubs and public places, where participants practically expressed their love for the Prophet, Ahl al-Bayt, and the noble companions, and demanded the reconstruction of the shrines in Jannat al-Baqi and Jannat al-Mualla, including those of the daughter of the Prophet, the Lady of Paradise Hazrat Syeda Fatima Zahra, the Ahl al-Bayt, the Mothers of the Believers Hazrat Khadija, Hazrat Aisha, Hazrat Hafsa, and the noble companions Hazrat Uthman, as well as the Imams of Ahl al-Bayt including Imam Hasan, Imam Zain al-Abidin, Imam Baqir, and Imam Jafar Sadiq.
A rally from Darbar Sakhi Mahmood Badshah Islamabad was attended by thousands and passed through Srinagar Highway to reach Aabpara Chowk, where Secretary General Allama Basharat Imami addressed the gathering. In Rawalpindi, the Baqi Million March rally was taken out from Nasir Abad on Murree Road, with tens of thousands of believes participating. The rally was led by Chief Tehreek Nafaz Fiqh Jafariya Allama Agha Syed Hussain Muqaddasi, along with scholars, mourning leaders, and other renowned personalities. Speaking to the media, Allama Agha Syed Hussain Muqaddasi stated that the diplomatic efforts of the Government of Pakistan for ending war in the Gulf and establishing peace are commendable, and the government should play its role in bringing Arab and non-Arab nations closer. He urged that the plight of peaceful Pakistanis expelled from Arab states should be addressed, as they have contributed significantly to the development of those countries, and targeting them on sectarian grounds would only strengthen the conspiracies of enemies of Islam and deepen divisions among Muslims.
He emphasized that Muslim countries should stop relying on the United States for their defense and security, as America’s ultimate objective is the protection and expansion of Israel and the support of anti-Islam forces. Therefore, American bases wherever established should be removed, and Muslim countries should form a joint defense alliance through the platform of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation. Following the guidance of the late Quaid-e-Millat-e-Jafariya Agha Syed Hamid Ali Shah Moosavi, he said that any attack on a Muslim country should be considered an attack on the entire Muslim world, and all Muslim nations must respond collectively, otherwise imperialist forces will devour them one by one.
He further stated that commemorating the brutal Oppression of Jannat al-Baqi like the mourning of the martyrs of Karbala and exposing oppression, brutality, extremism, and terrorism is a lesson taught by Agha Syed Hamid Ali Shah Moosavi. During the rallies, hundreds of young activists of Mukhtar Generation and Ibrahim Scouts carried banners depicting Jannat al-Baqi with slogans demanding its reconstruction. Throughout the processions, lamentation and mourning continued. The rally concluded at Imambargah Colonel Maqbool Hussain after passing through designated routes, with speeches delivered at Committee Chowk.
Similar mourning protests were held across the country including Karachi, Lahore, Peshawar, Multan, Quetta, Larkana, Mirpur Khas, Shikarpur, Jhang, Abbottabad, Haripur, Sialkot, Bahawalpur, and Faisalabad, as well as in Muzaffarabad, Hyderabad, Gilgit-Baltistan, Bagh, Gujrat, and Dera Ghazi Khan. Protesters emphasized through resolutions that Muslims around the world are observing this day under the call of Chief Tehreek Nafaz Fiqh Jafariya Allama Agha Syed Hussain Muqaddasi with the spirit of love for the Prophet, devotion to Ahl al-Bayt, and respect for the companions, aiming to restore the sanctity of divine symbols
The resolutions also highlighted that sacred shrines in Iran, including those of Imam Ali ibn Musa al-Rida and Hazrat Masooma Qom, as well as many saints and descendants of the Prophet, are under threat due to American and Israeli aggression, while the shrine of the Prophet’s ancestor Hazrat Hashim in Gaza has already been destroyed. Concern was expressed over threats to the shrine of Syeda Zainab in Syria. It was stated that the destruction of Islamic heritage began over a century ago after the fall of the Ottoman Empire, leading to widespread extremism and destruction of religious heritage across all faiths.
The resolutions called upon the United Nations and UNESCO, as well as global peace institutions and Muslim rulers, to ensure the reconstruction of Jannat al-Baqi and Jannat al-Mualla. Strong condemnation was expressed against American and Zionist aggression on Iran, Indian-backed terrorism in Pakistan, and cross-border attacks from Afghanistan. The international community was urged to stop the dangerous ambitions of Greater Israel and Akhand Bharat.
Support was expressed for Pakistan Army’s Operation Ghazab lil Haq against terrorists networks, and solidarity was declared with the oppressed people of Iran, Lebanon, Yemen, Kashmir, and Gaza. Tribute was paid to martyrs including innocent civilians in Iran, Lebanon, Palestine, and Pakistan.
The resolution warned Muslim rulers that the ultimate target of Zionist and imperialist agendas is the Holy Haramain, urging unity among Muslim nations against aggression on Iran. It stressed that only unity can defeat the alliance of America, India, and Israel. The government was also urged to revoke unjust SOPs restricting Azadari in Punjab, stating that such measures violate the Constitution of Pakistan and human rights.
The participants reaffirmed their commitment to continue their struggle under the leadership of Chief Tehreek Nafaz Fiqh Jafariya Allama Syed Hussain Muqaddasi for the supremacy of Islam and Pakistan, unity between Shia and Sunni Muslims, support for the oppressed, and protection of constitutional rights. They pledged not to allow any banned group to misuse the identity of the organization and vowed to continue their mission in line with the vision of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and Allama Muhammad Iqbal. Prayers were offered in all protests for the success of Pakistan, the nation, and oppressed people worldwide including Palestine, Gaza, and Kashmir.
