UAE marks 54 years of unity and progress; Pakistan celebrates a brotherly partner

KARACHI: The United Arab Emirates marks its 54th Founding Anniversary today onTuesday, celebrating a historic journey of unity, leadership, and transformation that has turned the UAE into one of the world’s most dynamic nations. Pakistan has extended warm felicitations to the UAE leadership and people, reaffirming a partnership rooted in trust, shared values, and more than five decades of close brotherhood.
Pakistan was among the first countries to recognize the UAE in 1971, setting the foundation for a relationship that has steadily strengthened across diplomacy, trade, defence, and people-to-people linkages. Today, over 1.8 million Pakistanis live and work in the UAE-one of the largest expatriate communities contributing significantly to the Emirates’ economy and cultural diversity. Their presence forms a living bond between the two countries, while their remittances continue to support Pakistan’s economic stability.
In 54 years, the UAE has emerged as a model of modern development. Under the leadership of H.H. Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and other visionary rulers, the Emirates has become a global hub for aviation, finance, tourism, logistics, renewable energy, and technological innovation. Its success is widely regarded as a testament to strategic planning, political stability, and a commitment to excellence.
Pakistan and the UAE share strong economic and strategic cooperation. The UAE remains one of Pakistan’s top investors, with major stakes in ports, telecommunications, energy, agriculture, real estate, and aviation. Humanitarian support, particularly through the UAE-Pakistan Assistance Programme, has helped rebuild schools, hospitals, and water systems across Pakistan.
In Karachi, the UAE Consulate-under the leadership of H.E. Bakheet Ateeq Alremeithi-continues to strengthen bilateral ties through diplomatic outreach, social welfare cooperation, and community initiatives. His engagement with local organizations and fluency in Urdu have further deepened goodwill.
As the UAE pursues its Vision 2071 and Pakistan seeks economic revival, both nations are positioned to expand cooperation in technology, renewable energy, food security, logistics, and skilled manpower development.
On this 54th National Day, Pakistan celebrates not only the UAE’s achievements but also a friendship that continues to grow stronger with each passing decade.
