KARACHI: Umeed by LADIESFUND, an initiative of Dawood Global Foundation, continued its community-based breast cancer awareness and empowerment programme in collaboration with SINA, conducting an awareness session for deserving women at the SINA Clinic at Behbud.
The session focused on equipping women with practical knowledge about breast health, the importance of early detection, recognizing possible warning signs, breast self-awareness, and seeking timely medical advice. The initiative is designed to take potentially life-saving health information directly into communities and create an environment in which women feel confident discussing and prioritizing their health.
The Behbud session follows Umeed by LADIESFUND’s earlier training of 180 women at SINA Jumma Goth Clinic, further expanding the programme’s community outreach.
“Breast cancer awareness begins with access to the right information. We are grateful to Umeed by LADIESFUND, an initiative of Dawood Global Foundation, for bringing this important breast cancer awareness and empowerment training to our SINA Clinics. Following the 180-women training at SINA Jumma Goth Clinic, 50 women were just trained at the SINA Clinic at Behbud by Umeed by LADIESFUND. These sessions help women understand the importance of early detection and taking charge of their health.” – Dr. Sabeen Shah, Chief Medical Officer, SINA
“At Umeed by LADIESFUND, we believe breast cancer awareness must go beyond information – it must give women the confidence and knowledge to take action. Our training at the SINA Clinic at Behbud Clifton is part of our commitment to bringing breast health education, self-awareness and empowerment directly to women in the communities where they live. We are grateful to SINA for opening its doors to this important work.” – Tara Uzra Dawood, Founder, LADIESFUND
“When I introduced Umeed by LADIESFUND, an initiative of Dawood Global Foundation, to SINA, my hope was that their breast cancer awareness work could reach women in communities where such information is often difficult to access. Seeing the Umeed team now conduct its awareness and empowerment training at the SINA Clinic at Behbud Clifton is a wonderful continuation of that vision. I am very pleased to see this partnership take root.” – Iqbal Adamjee
Through Umeed by LADIESFUND, Dawood Global Foundation continues to promote greater awareness, earlier action and stronger health agency among women, while its collaboration with SINA enables this education to reach women within their own communities.
