I extend my warmest felicitations to the Government and people of the Republic of the Philippines on the auspicious occasion of the 128th Independence Anniversary of the Philippines.
This historic day is a proud reminder of the courage, resilience and determination of the Filipino people in their struggle for independence, dignity and national progress. Over the years, the Philippines has emerged as a vibrant nation known for its rich cultural heritage, hardworking people, strong community values and constructive role in regional and international cooperation.
Malaysia and the Philippines, as close neighbours and fellow members of the ASEAN family, share deep-rooted relations based on friendship, mutual respect and a shared commitment to peace, stability and prosperity in the region. The bonds between our peoples are strengthened by cultural similarities, economic engagement and common aspirations for inclusive development.
I also take this opportunity to appreciate the friendly relations between Pakistan and the Philippines, which have continued to grow since the establishment of diplomatic ties in 1949. Such relations contribute positively to understanding, cooperation and goodwill among nations.
On this important occasion, I commend The Financial Daily International for publishing this commemorative supplement to mark the Independence Anniversary of the Philippines and to highlight the spirit of friendship and cooperation among countries.
May the Republic of the Philippines continue to prosper and may the bonds of friendship between the Philippines, Malaysia and Pakistan grow stronger in the years ahead.
H.E. Herman Hardynata Ahmad
Consul General of Malaysia in Karachi
