ISLAMABAD: Pakistan reported Covid-19 positivity ratio below 5 percent for the sixth consecutive day as the ration stood at 4.81 percent, said the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) on Sunday.
A total of 55,965 samples were tested during the last 24 hours, out of which 2,697 were declared positive, the NCOC said. With 2,697 fresh cases, the total number of infections reported in the country reached 918,936.
According to the NCOC, the death toll climbed to 20,736 after 56 more people succumbed to the deadly virus during the aforementioned period. Meanwhile, the number of total active cases stands at 58,878 in the country. As per the statistics, the total number of coronavirus recoveries is recorded at 839,322.
In a provincial breakdown, the total number of coronavirus patients in Sindh reached 316,752 while 5,014 people have succumbed to the virus so far.
On the other hand, the total number of coronavirus patients in Punjab is 339,073 and 9,982 people have lost their lives to the virus. At least 696 new coronavirus cases were recorded in Punjab during the past 24 hours, taking the provincial tally to 339,073.
According to the Punjab Primary and Secondary Health Care Department, at least 22 more patients succumbed to the pandemic as the total death count reached 9,982. The department added that at least 308,733 patients had recovered from the deadly virus as of yet, with 458 people recovered in the past 24 hours.
The total number of patients in Balochistan is 19,290 while the death toll is 276. In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the number of coronavirus patients is reported to be at 132,170 with 4,060 deaths while in Azad Kashmir, 19,170 people have been infected with the virus and 540 people have died from the virus so far. – TLTP
