KARACHI: Umeed by LADIESFUND, an initiative of Dawood Global Foundation, has conducted a breast cancer awareness and empowerment session at the SINA Clinic at Shireen Jinnah, Karachi. The session continues the initiative’s efforts to make breast health education accessible to women through trusted community healthcare facilities.
The training focused on helping women understand breast cancer, recognize potential warning signs and appreciate the importance of early detection. Participants were encouraged to become more comfortable discussing breast health, pay attention to changes in their bodies and seek timely professional medical advice whenever needed.
By bringing these sessions into SINA’s community clinics, Umeed by LADIESFUND aims to make essential health information more accessible and actionable. The Shireen Jinnah session builds on previous trainings at SINA Jumma Goth and SINA Behbud Clifton, extending the programme’s reach through community-based healthcare settings.
“Breast cancer awareness is about more than information; it is about giving women the confidence to act on what they learn. By bringing these sessions into community clinics, Umeed by LADIESFUND is helping women feel more informed, take their health concerns seriously and understand the importance of seeking care early. Every woman reached is another step towards a more empowered and health-aware community.” – Sima Kamil, Co-Chair, Umeed by LADIESFUND
