KOHI GOTH: Umeed by LADIESFUND, an initiative of Dawood Global Foundation, continued its mission of taking breast health education directly into communities by conducting a breast cancer awareness and empowerment session for 160 women at Kohi Goth, in collaboration with SHINE Humanity.
The community-focused session provided women with practical information about breast health, breast self-awareness, possible warning signs, the importance of early detection and the need to seek timely professional medical attention when changes are noticed.
With 160 women participating, the Kohi Goth session represents another significant step in Umeed by LADIESFUND’s efforts to ensure that potentially life-saving breast health information reaches women at the grassroots level.
“At Umeed by LADIESFUND, we believe that where a woman lives should never determine whether she has access to knowledge about her own health. Reaching 160 women at Kohi Goth is incredibly meaningful because this is exactly where awareness can have a powerful ripple effect – one informed woman can take that knowledge back to her family and her community. Together with SHINE Humanity, we are replacing silence and fear around breast cancer with knowledge, confidence and action,” said Tara Uzra Dawood, Founder, Umeed by LADIESFUND
“Breast health awareness is an essential part of preventive healthcare, particularly for women in underserved communities. By creating opportunities for women to learn about their health, recognise potential warning signs and understand when to seek medical attention, we can help them make more informed decisions about their wellbeing. We at Shine Humanity are pleased to collaborate with Umeed by LADIESFUND to bring this important awareness to 160 women in Kohi Goth,” said Dr. Farwa Shahid, Senior Manager Public Health, SHINE Humanity.
The collaboration between Umeed by LADIESFUND and SHINE Humanity reflects a shared commitment to bringing essential health education closer to women, particularly within communities where access to dedicated awareness programmes can be limited.
“Bringing SHINE Humanity and Umeed by LADIESFUND together reflects the power of collaboration in creating meaningful impact. By raising awareness about breast health, we can empower women in underserved communities with the knowledge and confidence to prioritise their wellbeing,” said Iqbal Adamjee.
Through Umeed by LADIESFUND, Dawood Global Foundation continues to expand breast cancer awareness at the community level, empowering women to understand their bodies, prioritize their health and seek appropriate medical care when needed. -PR
