Good evening!
I am delighted to attend the celebration ceremony of the 102nd founding anniversary of the Communist Party of China(CPC). In recent years, the Karachi Editors Club(KEC) has taken the lead in organizing the annual celebration, which fully demonstrates Pakistani people’s friendly sentiments towards the Communist Party of China and the Chinese people. I express my heartfelt appreciation to all of you.
Dear Mr. Manzar Naqvi and Mr. Khurram Jaffrani, thank you so much for organizing such a great event tonight.
As you know, the Communist Party of China was founded on July 1, 1921. General Secretary Xi Jinping stated at the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the founding of the CPC on July 1, 2021, that the founding of a communist party in China was an epoch-making event, which profoundly changed the course of Chinese history in modern times, transformed the future of the Chinese people and nation, and altered the landscape of world development.
The aspiration and mission of the CPC is to seek happiness for the Chinese people and rejuvenation for the Chinese nation. This aspiration and mission has never changed over the past century.
During the 28 years from 1921 to 1949, the CPC led the Chinese people in toppling the three mountains of imperialism, feudalism, and bureaucrat-capitalism and establishing the People’s Republic of China, which made the people masters of the country. The nation’s independence was secured and the Chinese people were liberated . From then on the Chinese people had stood up.
After the founding of the new China, the CPC led the Chinese people in carrying out socialist revolution, and eliminating the exploitative and repressive feudal system that had persisted in China for thousands of years, and established socialism as the basic system. The CPC advanced the socialist construction, and brought about the most extensive and profound social changes in the history of the Chinese nation. The Chinese people embarked on the great journey of building a new socialist China.
In the late 1970s and early 1980s, the Communist Party of China led the Chinese people in implementing the reform and opening-up policy. This enabled China to transform itself from a highly centralized planned economy to a socialist market economy brimming with vitality. This was a historic transformation. China vigorously developed socialism with Chinese characteristics and embarked on the path of building a modern socialist country.
Through 40 years of hard work, It enabled China to achieve the historic leap from a country with relatively backward productive forces to the world’s second largest economy, and to make the historic transformation of raising the living standards of its people from bare subsistence to an overall level of moderate prosperity. The Chinese people became prosperous from then on.
Since the 18th National Congress of the CPC in 2012, the socialism with Chinese characteristics entered a new era. In this new era, we have upheld and strengthened the Party’s overall leadership. The CPC upheld and improved the system of socialism with Chinese characteristics, modernized China’s system and capacity for governance. More importantly, the Party established Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, which is the fundamental guidance for Chinese people to strive in unity to build a modern socialist country in all respects and advance the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation on all fronts. This Thought will be adhered to and continuously developed in the long term.
Through the continued efforts of the whole Party and the entire nation, China has realized the first centenary goal of building a moderately prosperous society in all respects. And a historic resolution to the problem of absolute poverty has been brought about in China.
In October 2022, the Communist Party of China held its 20th National Congress. Xi Jinping was reelected as the General Secretary of the Central Committee. This reflects the wholehearted support, trust, and affection of the Party and the people of all ethnic groups in China towards Xi.
The 20th Party Congress explicitly stated that the central task of the Party from then on is to lead the Chinese people of all ethnic groups in a concerted effort to realize the Second Centenary Goal, which is to build China into a great modern socialist country that is prosperous, strong, democratic, culturally advanced, harmonious, and beautiful by the middle of this century, and to advance the rejuvenation of the Chinese nation on all fronts through a Chinese path to modernization.
Dear friends,
Both modern and contemporary Chinese histories have provided ample evidence that without the Communist Party of China, there would be no new China and no national rejuvenation. The Communist Party of China was chosen by history and the people. The leadership of the Party is the defining feature of socialism with Chinese characteristics and constitutes the greatest strength of this system. The leadership of the Party is also the foundation and lifeblood of the Party and the country, and the crux upon which the interests and wellbeing of all Chinese people depend.
The reasons why the Communist Party of China has been able to unite and lead the Chinese people to achieve such remarkable achievements, to the Party and the Chinese people, mainly includes the following aspects:
First, upholding the Party’s overall leadership. The Communist Party of China is the central leading force of all causes in China. History and reality have proven that the CPC possesses keen judgment, strong organizational capabilities, and unwavering execution.
As long as the Party maintains unwavering commitment to its overall leadership, firmly upholds the core of the Party and the authority of the Central Committee, fully leverages the political strengths of Party leadership, and sees that Party leadership is exercised in all aspects and stages of the country’s cause, the Party will be able to ensure that all Party members, the armed forces, and all Chinese people unite as one in pressing ahead.
Second, putting the people first. The Communist Party of China represents the fundamental interests of the overwhelming majority of the Chinese people. It has no special interests of its own, nor has it ever represented the interests of any individual interest group, any power group, or any privileged stratum. This is the fundamental reason why the Party has maintained its inviolable strength.
The Party will remain committed to the fundamental purpose of wholeheartedly serving the people, will do everything for the people and rely on them in everything, exercise governance on behalf of the people and on the basis of their support, and stick to the notion that development is for the people, depends on the people, and its fruits should be shared by the people. By doing so, the Party will be able to lead the people toward new and even greater triumphs in building socialism with Chinese characteristics.
Third, breaking new ground. Innovation is an inexhaustible source of momentum for the development of a country and a nation. The CPC has demonstrated the courage to be pioneers and pursue a path hitherto uncharted. The Party accurately identifies changes, adeptly responds to them, and works to steer them in a favorable direction, never becomes rigid and never ceases making progress, making constant innovations in theory, practice, institutions, culture, and other areas.
Faced with a new round of technological revolution and industrial transformation, the CPC deeply recognizes that self-reliance and self-improvement in science and technology are the foundation of national prosperity and security. It actively wins the initiative of national development through technological innovation, builds a solid foundation for national rejuvenation with self-reliance and self-improvement.
Fourth, staying independent. China must follow its own path-this is the historical conclusion the Party has drawn from its endeavors over the past century. The Party has always stressed reliance on its own efforts to drive the nation’s development, and maintained that China’s affairs must be decided and run by the Chinese people themselves.
Throughout human history, no nation or country has ever become strong and prosperous by relying on external forces, indiscriminately copying the models of other countries, or blindly following in others’ footsteps. As long as China maintains independence and self-reliance, bolsters its people’s sense of national dignity and self-confidence while drawing on the useful experience of other countries, China will be able to keep the fate of its development and progress firmly in its own hands.
Fifth, maintaining a global vision. The CPC has been cogitating on the future of humanity with a global vision, and has correctly understood and handled China’s relations with the rest of the world in the context of the general trend of human development, the grand scheme of things amid global changes, and the entire course of Chinese history. It champions opening up over isolation, pursues mutual benefit instead of zero-sum games, and stands up for fairness and justice. This has enabled the CPC to stand on the right side of history and the side of human progress.
In recent years, General Secretary Xi Jinping has put forward the concept of building a community with a shared future for mankind, and Global Development Initiative(GDI), Global Security Initiative(GSI), Global Civilization Initiative(GCI), providing Chinese solutions and contributing Chinese wisdom to promote global development, enhance mutual security, and strengthen exchanges and mutual learning among civilizations. Under the leadership of the CPC, China has always been a builder of world peace, a contributor to global development, and a defender of the international order.
Sixth, remaining committed to self-reform. The CPC has emerged from one hundred years of vicissitudes with even greater vitality. The secret to this lies in the Party’s commitment to upholding truth and righting errors. The Party is great not because it never makes mistakes, but because it always owns up to its errors, actively engages in criticism and self-criticism, and has the courage to Sconfront problems and reform itself, demonstrating strong self-repair capabilities.
In the past decade, the CPC Central Committee, with Comrade Xi Jinping at its core, has always maintained sobriety and firmness in addressing the unique challenges faced by a large party. It has persevered in comprehensively governing the Party with strict discipline and implemented a combination of self-reform measures. It has tackled deep-rooted problems in the Party, achieving overwhelming victory and comprehensive consolidation in the fight against corruption. The self-reform of the CPC will always be an ongoing process.

Not long ago, China and Pakistan celebrated the 72nd anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations. Over the past 72 years, China-Pakistan relations have remained strong amidst changing international circumstances. It has not only become valuable strategic assets for both countries, but also serve as a model for peaceful coexistence and mutually beneficial cooperation between nations with different social systems and cultural backgrounds.
Shortly after the successful convening of the 20th National Congress of the CPC, General Secretary Xi Jinping met with Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz. The meeting of the two leaders provides direction for the development of bilateral relations.
At the same time, Inter-party exchanges have always been an important component of China-Pakistan relations, and the CPC has established friendly relations with various political parties in Pakistan regardless of their size, governing status, or ideological differences.
The development of China-Pakistan relations to the present level would not have been possible without the long-standing care and support of Pakistani political parties. The CPC is willing to continue to exchange experiences in governance and statecraft with all political parties in Pakistan, join hands in pursuing the path of modernization, and stride forward on the road to building a community with a shared future for mankind.

July 1 marks the 102nd anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China (CPC). Over the past 102 years, CPC has upheld the great spirit of building the Party, constructed a spiritual lineage for the CPC and honed a distinct political character in its long-term struggle. The Communist Party of China and the Chinese people have fought for a century, writing the grandest chapter in the history of the Chinese nation spanning thousands of years.
Today, our friends in Pakistan celebrate the birthday of the Communist Party of China through a solemn ceremony in the cloud. We greatly appreciate the contribution of our Pakistani friends in promoting China-Pakistan friendship, deepening cooperation in various fields, and enhancing friendly exchanges.
Recently, President Xi Jinping made important instructions on Party building and organizational work, pointing out that the key to comprehensively building a moderately prosperous society in all respects, and promoting the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation, lies in the Party and the people. The people also means China’s extensive circle of international friends, including the unique ironclad China-Pakistan friendship. We believe that the all-weather strategic cooperative partnership between the two countries will reach a higher level.
The ironclad China-Pakistan friendship enjoys the widest support in both countries because the two countries firmly support each other on issues involving their respective core interests. China places Pakistan in a priority position in its neighborhood diplomacy and firmly supports Pakistan in safeguarding its sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity, and firmly supports Pakistan in achieving national unity, social stability, and economic prosperity. Pakistan firmly adheres to the One China policy and firmly supports China on all issues involving China’s core interests such as Taiwan, Xinjiang, Tibet, Hong Kong, and the South China Sea issues.
This year marks the 10th anniversary of the proposal of the Belt and Road Initiative and the 10th anniversary of the launch of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor. The China-Pakistan Economic Corridor is a demonstration project of the Belt and Road Initiative, promoting Pakistan’s economic and social development, expanding employment, and improving people’s livelihoods. We look forward to both sides continuing to the high-quality development of the corridor, and strengthening cooperation in fields such as culture, education, agriculture, science and technology, information technology, and renewable energy, continuing to write a new chapter for the ironclad China-Pakistan friendship! We are delighted to have you join us on the auspicious occasion to celebrate the 102nd founding anniversary of the Communist Party of China
KEC was established in 2017 as a media think tank and has been celebrating CPC founding anniversaries since 1998. This year, for the first time, we are celebrating this momentous occasion in association with Mr. Khurram Jaffrani, CEO of AdPulse a prominent name in the advertising field and the best event planners in Pakistan, with the kind support of GFS Builders, a major player in the real estate sector in Pakistan.
I am thankful to all the team efforts of the Adpulse and GFS staff who did very hard work day and night in the leadership of Mr Khuraam Jaffrani, during these eid days as vendors of every things were closed due to eid holidays in Pakistan. That’s why we are celebrating this CPC anniversary today on July 3, first time instead of July 1st every year.
The CPC has played a pivotal role in shaping the destiny of the Chinese nation. Today, we have witnessed to the transformative progress that China has achieved under the visionary leadership of President H.E. Xi Jinping, the Secretary General of the CPC. Under President Xi’s remarkable leadership, China has showcased to the world that what determination and dedication can accomplish, from economic reforms to poverty alleviation, from infrastructure development to environmental conservation.
The KEC takes great pride in being a platform that fosters dialogue, exchange of ideas, and collaboration among journalists, editors, and media professionals. We firmly believe in the power of the media to bridge gaps, promote understanding, and shape public opinion. It is through such platforms that we can further strengthen the ties between our two Nations.
H.E. Yundong, your presence here today is the importance that China is promoting the relationship with Pakistan and its commitment to cultural and people-to-people exchanges. We are honored to have you as our chief guest, and we eagerly anticipate hearing your insights on the remarkable journey of the CPC and the future of China-Pakistan relations.

Thank you for providing me the opportunity to participate virtually in an important ceremony in Karachi to mark the 102nd founding anniversary of the Communist Party of China (CPC). My sincere thanks to the Karachi Editors Club.
I am an Indian political activist striving to promote better relations between India and Pakistan, and also between India and China. Therefore, I feel truly honored and delighted that an Indian has been invited to participate in a program organised in Pakistan to celebrate the 102nd anniversary of the Communist Party of China. This is really a testimony to our common commitment to friendship and cooperation among our three countries for peace and prosperity in South Asia.
The fraternal people of China and the Chinese Government, under the visionary leadership of the Communist Party of China (CPC) have achieved numerous incredible successes.
China’s greatest achievement is complete eradication of extreme poverty. As many as 800 million people have been liberated from the clutches of poverty in the past four decades. This the largest reduction of poverty in the history of humankind.
From a primarily agrarian economy, China has transformed into the world’s second-largest economy and a global powerhouse. This extraordinary progress can be attributed to the vision and leadership of the Chinese Government, led by the CPC.
Under the farsighted leadership of President Xi Jinping, China is scripting many new success stories. The Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), launched by him.
2013, is a bold and ambitious undertaking to promote regional development and connectivity in the whole of Asia and Europe.
The BRI has the potential to bring immense benefits to participating countries. By investing in infrastructure development, the BRI can unlock economic potential, enhance connectivity, and reduce trade barriers.
I have been a consistent votary of India joining the Belt and Road Initiative and its flagship project, the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). This would greatly benefit connectivity and economic cooperation in South Asia.
Under the leadership of President Xi Jinping, China has pursued an ambitious agenda of economic and social reforms, aimed at achieving the Chinese Dream of national rejuvenation. President Xi’s leadership has been marked by a strong emphasis on innovation, technological advancement, and sustainable development. This has enabled China to diversify its economy, move up the value chain, and become a global leader in sectors such as digital technology, renewable energy, and high-speed rail.
The CPC has played a crucial role in China’s development. As the ruling party, the CPC has provided stability, continuity, and effective governance, enabling long-term planning and implementation of policies. The CPC’s emphasis on disciplined governance, meritocracy, and accountability has helped China achieve impressive economic growth, eradicate poverty on a massive scale, and improve the living standards of its people.
As India’s largest trading partner, China’s development and the role of the CPC hold significant implications for our country as well. India and China, as two ancient civilizations, have a long history of cultural and economic exchanges. It is in our mutual interest to foster peaceful coexistence, enhance trade ties, and promote people-to-people exchanges. While we have our differences and disputes, it is essential to engage in dialogue, build trust, and find common ground for cooperation.
Let us strive for a future where China, India, Pakistan and the international community can collaborate and coexist peacefully, fostering prosperity, development, and mutual understanding.

In this prestigious ceremony, Imran Samad President Sindh Bank, Hassan Habib Ex Ambassador of Pakistan, Mohsin Wahid Director Marketing, Senior Journalists Agha Masood Hussain, Mukhtar Ahmed Butt, Iqbal Jamil and various others addressed and praised the great development and achievements of the Chinese people under the leadership of the CPC, saying that the CPC is the greatest political party in the world, and hoped to learn from the experience of the CPC in governing the country and promote the economic and social development of Pakistan.
