Security Personnel Neutralize Four Suicide Bombers in Mohmand Attack: ISPR

RAWALPINDI: Security forces thwarted an attempted suicide attack on the Frontier Corps (FC) Headquarters in Mohmand district, killing four terrorists, according to a statement from the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Saturday.

The ISPR said the group of terrorists, identified as Khwarij, attempted to infiltrate the FC camp in the early hours of Friday but were effectively neutralized by security personnel before they could carry out any damage.

“The security forces prevented the attackers from entering the camp, resulting in all four suicide bombers being sent to hell,” the ISPR stated, adding that a sanitisation operation was underway to eliminate any other threats in the area.

The military emphasized the firm resolve of Pakistan’s security forces to eradicate terrorism. “Pakistan’s security forces remain determined to wipe out the menace of terrorism from the country,” the ISPR said.

In a related incident, five terrorists were killed in a gunfight with security forces at the Surkhab refugee camp in Pishin district, according to a spokesman from the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD). A large cache of arms and ammunition was recovered during the operation.

During a Defence Day ceremony at the General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi on Friday, Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif reaffirmed the government’s commitment to fighting terrorism and pledged to continue the operation against Fitna-al-Khwarij until their complete eradication.

“All our armed forces and law enforcement agencies will continue the operation, and there is a national consensus for this,” the Prime Minister declared.
