Under the visionary leadership of Syed Saleem Akhter, President of POCG UAE, and Mr. Zaheer Ahmed, President of POCG Gulf, the organization continuously takes keen interest in resolving community issues and becoming a strong advocate for humanity and community work. With their unwavering commitment, POCG recently organized a Para Sports Seminar in Dubai, specially designed to raise public awareness and extend maximum support to people of determination (POD).
The event received immense support from Pakistan Education Academy Dubai, a proud institution known for encouraging community services in the UAE. Principal Shumaila Ahmed provided complete support to this program, recognizing its significance in promoting inclusivity and supporting individuals with determination.
The seminar commenced with a heartwarming recitation of Talawat-e-Quran and Naat by the esteemed Dr. Akram Shahzad, followed by the dynamic hosting duo of Syed Saleem Akhter and the renowned TikTok personality, Fahad Asad. Dr. Shahzad Tahir, Vice President of Para Sports Wing, played a pivotal role in arranging all the necessary logistics and arrangements for the success of the program, a testament to his dedication and passion for promoting Para Sports.
POCG Gulf President, Zaheer Ahmed, extended gratitude to all the sponsors, including NFL Investments, Walid Alali Tourism, United Grease and Lubricants, Chai Shai Restaurant as well as the media channels whose exceptional support contributed to the program’s success.
Esteemed personalities and distinguished guests, including Saddique Yaseen, Kashif, and Farzana Mansoor, graced the event with their presence, adding an air of grace and importance to the occasion.
A highlight of the event was the lucky draw, which saw Waleed Alali Tourism Company granting four Umrah tickets to the fortunate audience. Furthermore, two Para Taekwondo athletes made history by receiving free Umrah tickets through a lucky draw, a momentous occasion for the sport. POCG also awarded shields, Taekwondo uniforms, and Tracksuits to all the players, recognizing their hard work and dedication.
The Para Sports Team Lahore emerged as the proud winners of the coveted Event Trophy, while the Para Sports Team Multan, led by Jamal Ghani, claimed the second position, displaying their extraordinary talent and determination.
Adding to the excitement, the audience was treated to a delightful KFC Meal and Chai Shai refreshments, making the event even more enjoyable.
The honorable guests paid high appreciation to the entire team of POCG UAE, especially Syed Saleem Akhter, Zaheer Ahmed, and other notable individuals, including Nadeem Paracha, Asif Paracha, Rana Anees, Aslam Sarkani, Umar Blouch, Dr. Naseem Firdous, Madam Khalida Bukhari, Zubaida Khanum, and Irfan, whose collective efforts ensured the success of the program.
Dr. Shahzad Tahir, President of Para Sports Foundation and Vice President of Para Sports Wing UAE, delivered an insightful presentation about Para Taekwondo. Madam Saima Naqvi, a renowned social worker, played a pivotal role in managing and arranging the fabulous event. Additionally, students from Pakistan Education Academy showcased various tableaus to raise awareness for people of determination.
Prominent guests, including Munir Hans and Noor al Sabah, expressed their heartfelt appreciation for this special event, graciously designed to support and encourage people of determination. They emphasized the need for more frequent programs of this nature to further uplift and empower the community.
In the spirit of their commitment to the cause, POCG arranged for free air tickets, boarding and lodging facilities, and city bus tours for the participants, ensuring a memorable and inclusive experience for all. The program concluded with a joyous celebration at Chai Shai Restaurant, bringing together all attendees to foster a sense of unity and camaraderie.
