Universal Health Coverage Day

Universal Health Coverage Day

Universal Health Coverage Day is observed annually on December 12 in order to promote the availability and affordability of healthcare regardless of a person’s geography, income, or social standing. On this date in 2012, the United Governments General Assembly adopted a resolution urging all nations to accelerate their efforts to offer healthcare to all their populations. Universal Health Coverage (UHC) hinges on providing quality healthcare at a reasonable price, and this should be a primary goal for all nations.

The United Nations adopted resolution 72/138 in 2017, declaring December 12 as an ‘International Universal Health Coverage Day’.

This year’s theme, “Build the world we want: A healthy future for everyone,” emphasizes the need for equity, trust, healthy environments, investments, and personal accountability to construct sustainable health systems.

The fundamental objective of Universal Health Coverage Day is to raise people’s awareness of how important it is to build robust healthcare systems with the participation of a wide variety of stakeholders and to do it in a way that can be widely disseminated.

On this day, universal healthcare advocates raise awareness about the plight of the millions of people who still do not have access to healthcare, celebrate achievements, and urge the leaders of the globe to invest more strategically in healthcare. The most important takeaway is that countries and organizations have until the year 2030 to take action to implement universal health care.

WHO (World Health Organization) envisions a world where the well-being of all citizens is taken into account when planning infrastructure and resources is considered. This means that we may all benefit from both rewarding and safe jobs for our health.

Moreover, we would always have easy access to free and low-cost resources that would help us make informed decisions about our health, protect us from illness, treat us, and aid in our eventual recovery. When health is recognized as a fundamental human right by every nation and every industry, we take a giant step toward creating the future we all want and deserve. Fueled by a whole-of-society approach, primary healthcare systems are the most efficient and cost-effective way to offer health and wellness services to people.

Hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of lives, could be saved, and average life spans could rise as a result.

It is reasonable to assume that most humans possess high levels of intelligence. Their intellectual superiority allows them to rule over other species, which is the source of their dominion. Because of their outstanding mental capabilities, humans can influence the natural world. On the other hand, having a sound mind and body is essential to the human race’s continued existence.

An old Chinese saying states that a healthy guy will also be prosperous. Exercising consistently is an efficient way to preserve one’s physical condition and acute awareness of the passage of time. When a person’s physical health, as well as their mental health, is at its best, they may look forward to having a mind that is sharp and aware. Because a person’s mental and emotional health is reflected in their physical health, a frail and unfit body can devastate their mental and emotional health.

Making the Earth habitable for future generations and self-renewing is an ambitious goal and one that we recognize at Hashoo Foundation. In light of this, being a knowledge-based organization to decrease our impact on the Earth, we at Hashoo Foundation intend to focus on taking essential measures and employ technology with care. As an industry, healthcare accounts for 4.4% to 4.6% of global greenhouse gas emissions. These emissions contribute to climate change and indirectly result in a decline in health.

A recent study has linked modern life’s increasing stress to various diseases. The most prevalent are neurological and cardiovascular conditions. Having a good view of life and work is more straightforward when you are healthy. Despite the difficulties and obstacles we experience, the purpose of life is to be happy and joyful. We require vigor and a sense of adventure to appreciate life’s many treasures. This is only achievable if one’s physical health is robust enough to endure life’s obstacles.

Preventive health care should commence as soon as possible. How well a mother takes care of her health, whether she eats a nutritious, well-balanced diet that gives all the nutrients her growing child requires, and how clean their living surroundings are all factors. These are the bare necessities for a breastfeeding mother and her child. Clearly, dreaded childhood diseases such as polio, diphtheria, typhoid, etc., impact several children. Pediatric health care places a high premium on preventing these diseases.

In conclusion, we seek a society where everyone can conveniently access affordable, high-quality medical care. As we strive for #HealthForAll, universal health coverage lifts people out of poverty, strengthens families and communities, and prevents public health disasters.
